Dreaming of a tropical escape? Look no further than Villa Marmarine Beach Resort and Restaurant, a charming gem located on one of the beaches of Siquijor Island in the Philippines.
My first visit to Villa Marmarine Beach Resort was in December 2022 to eat Japanese food at their restaurant.
I was with my friends and it was drizzling and gloomy at that time so eating a bowl of ramen was the ideal meal for me.

Last January this year, we had a chance to do an overnight stay in one of their rooms. Here’s my honest experience staying at this beautiful beachfront property.
📍 Location, Location, Location

Did I say that this resort has a beachfront view?
Yup, this Siquijor resort is located along Candanay Sur Beach. This means waking up to the sound of crashing waves and spending your days basking in the sun or cooling off in the crystal-clear waters. Perfect for beach lovers like me!
That’s not all – if you don’t like crowds, Candanay Sur Beach assures you that you can have a peaceful morning while sipping a coffee and having your free breakfast at the Villa Marmarine Restaurant.
If you’re lucky you might see some fishermen doing their daily work at the not-so-far part of the sea. Such a good way to start your day!
Downside? The path from the national highway going here is not well developed and some parts are rocky and uneven.
After our first visit here, two of my friends slipped while riding a motorcycle in a muddy pool. Luckily, nothing serious happened!

🏖️ Relaxation by the Sea

The resort itself gives a serene atmosphere with its native materials used in their cottages, restaurant, and other part of the property.
Lush gardens also create a peaceful haven, while the inviting terrace or patio is ideal for unwinding with a good book or enjoying a refreshing drink.

I still remember taking a moment on our patio after waking up. I felt like I was in a trance, feeling the wind, and hearing the chirping of the birds and the small splash of the waves on the sea.
Also, if you’re seeking an adventure, the beach offers opportunities for swimming, snorkeling, or simply soaking up the sun.

🛌🏻 Rooms and Amenities

When I booked a room at Villa Marmarine Beach Resort and Restaurant for two people, I didn’t expect much since we would use it for a night.
But when we checked in, they gave us, I think, a family room (perhaps their biggest room!) because it was the only available room for us at that time.

Other than the very spacious room, I’m talking about a two-story cottage good for a family of six people, the comfortable slippers provided, the free and delicious breakfast, and the proximity to the restaurant, what I also like about it is how interactive and accommodating the staff and the owners are.

Again, the property features a restaurant serving delicious Filipino and Japanese cuisines. My friend, who I was with, actually asked for a simple and easy-to-prepare dish, but it was not available in the menu.
Fortunately, they still granted her request and prepared it! I saw how happy my friend was that morning.
The only thing I didn’t like about our room was the window in our comfort room. It doesn’t have any kind of barrier to it like a mini curtain or blinds.

The window was a patterned cement window thus it was open all the time. I hope that it will have any type of barrier next time because I feel exposed while doing my thing in the bathroom.
👨🏻👩🏻👧🏻👧🏻 Family-Friendly

The resort’s relaxed vibe and proximity to the beach make it a great choice for families and groups.
Kids will love splashing in the waves, while parents can unwind in the open restaurant or walk along the stretch of white sand.
While staying here, I even saw the owner’s dog (I guess)! My Japanese friend even had a brief conversation with the owners.
They’re Japanese so it was smooth and easy for them to have a good talk.
🛵 Exploring Siquijor

While Villa Marmarine offers a relaxing retreat, don’t miss out on exploring the wonders of Siquijor.
The property is not far from the center of Siquijor town, offering opportunities for cultural immersion, souvenir shopping, and trying out the local cuisine.

✅ Thinking of Booking?
Here are some things to keep in mind:
👩🏻💻 Since prices can vary depending on dates and room types, it’s recommended to check Booking.com or Agoda for the latest rates. I booked our stay at Booking.com last time.
📞 Consider contacting the resort directly for any specific inquiries you might have about room options or amenities.
🧼 Bring your toiletries if you can because some amenities may not be okay with you.
🍨 Try having dinner at their restaurant. They will give you a free ice cream for dessert!
🦎 Don’t be shocked with geckos or “tuko”. They can be seen in some cottages like ours but don’t fret because they only stay outside the room and don’t harm anyone. Think about it as an added element to the overall aesthetic and native vibe of the resort.
Final Thoughts: A Review of Villa Marmarine Beach Resort and Restaurant

As one of the beach resorts in Siquijor, Villa Marmarine Beach Resort and Restaurant appears to be a solid choice for travelers seeking a laid-back beachfront experience on Siquijor Island.
With its prime location, calming atmosphere, and potential for family-friendly fun, this resort offers a slice of paradise for those wanting to escape the hustle and bustle.
I would definitely go back here for the food and vibe!
