Visiting Siquijor Island for three different trips means planning, exploring new places, discovering more activities, choosing the best accommodation for my preferences, etc.
Talking about Siquijor accommodations, it breaks down to budget stays, mid-range or luxury resorts, proximity, amenities, and location whether you prefer it to be at the mountains or one of the beach resorts in Siquijor, Philippines.

In the past, we mostly stayed near the beach located not far from the national highway.
I’ve tried peaceful glamping at Aquamare, a Japanese stay at Villa Marmarine, a night each at Blue Wave Inn (love the infinity pool here) and Danish Lagoon (Little Mermaid-themed resort), and a budget-friendly room at The Sylvia (just across the Solangon Beach).

Simply inform the guard at the entrance that you’d like to have a snack at the restaurant, and they’ll check availability for you. While Coco Grove Beach Resort may be pricey for some, by visiting at off-peak times, you increase your chances of securing a table without a prior reservation.
A highlight of my visit here was the stunning sunset view from the white sandy beach, where I savored a refreshing watermelon shake.
This resort provides a perfect blend of comfort and natural beauty that will ensure every visitor a memorable and rejuvenating experience.

During a weekend getaway in 2023, my family enjoyed a stay at The Bruce. Even my grandmother, who is in her 80s, had a wonderful time, highlighting the cottage’s appeal to guests of all ages.
As for me, I visited and had a delicious breakfast at their restaurant on my last trip to the island. My friend and I also had a great time swinging at one of the swings hanging on the coconut trees.

This small and inviting resort offers free Wi-Fi and features a sunset bar for guests to unwind and enjoy the scenic views. Plus, it’s along San Juan Beach!
Although the beach may not be ideal for swimming, it’s perfect for building sandcastles.
The resort also offers a pool for leisurely swims and they can arrange motorbike rentals or island tours, allowing you to explore the attractions of Siquijor.

This secluded beach offers unobstructed views of the sun as it sets over the horizon, painting the sky in vibrant hues of orange, pink, and purple.

What are the Best Months to Go to Siquijor?

The best time to visit Siquijor is during the dry season, from November to April.
During these months, the weather is generally sunny, with little to no rainfall, making it ideal for exploring the island’s beaches, waterfalls, and other attractions.
However, it’s essential to keep in mind that Siquijor is a popular tourist destination, so the island can get crowded during peak season, especially around Christmas, New Year, and Holy Week.
If you prefer to avoid the crowds, consider visiting during the shoulder seasons of May to June or September to October.
During these months, the weather is still pleasant, and you’re likely to find fewer tourists, allowing you to enjoy a more peaceful and relaxed vacation experience.

How to Reach Siquijor Island?

To reach Siquijor Island, you’ll mainly travel by boat, as there’s no direct flight going to the island. The nearest airport is in Dumaguete on Negros Island, which is about 45 minutes away via fast ferries.
⛴️ Dumaguete
Take a ferry from Dumaguete to Siquijor with companies like OceanJet, Montenegro Shipping, Aleson Shipping, or HS Star Marine. This route is also the most ideal option if your’re visiting Siquijor from Manila.
⛴️ Cebu
Catch an OceanJet ferry from Cebu to Tagbilaran (Bohol), then transfer to another ferry to Siquijor. Alternatively, you can take a ferry from Cebu’s Liloan Port directly to Siquijor, but the journey is longer about 6 hours. Hop on an OceanJet ferry from Tagbilaran to Siquijor, or take Lite Ferries from Tagbilaran to Larena on Siquijor for a different route.

The most popular choice, you can rent a motorbike for 350-500 pesos per day. It’s perfect for exploring at your own pace and checking out waterfalls, beaches, and more.
🛺 Tricycle
Slower but cheaper than motorbikes, a tricycle hire for a day costs around 1000 pesos. They can accommodate more passengers, and you’ll have a friendly driver to take you around.
🚙 Tours
If you prefer a guided experience, many companies offer tours to top spots like the Balete Tree, Cambugahay Falls, Salagdoong Beach, and Lazi Church. You can book a tour package at the port or through one of the hotels or beach resorts in Siquijor.
🚙 Jeepney
A budget-friendly option for larger groups, friends, or families, jeepneys with a driver can be rented for around 1500 pesos per day.
