There are a few beaches in Vigan and nearby, so you might be wondering if there’s a beach resort in the area.
The options for a beach resort in Vigan City are very limited.
I break it all down here, and the best alternatives if what you’re really after is a good pool and a relaxing stay.
Is There a Beach Resort in Vigan City?
Short answer: not really.
Vigan is a heritage town first, and its beach options reflect that. There’s not a lot of good, proper beach resorts within Vigan City itself, just Mindoro Beach, and it is more of a stretch of black sand than a resort setup.
The closest thing to what most people are picturing is OveMar Resort Hotel, but it’s technically not in Vigan City.
It’s by Sta. Catalina Beach, in Sta. Catalina, the town right next door. It’s about a 15-minute drive away from Calle Crisologo.

OveMar Resort Hotel sits right by Sta. Catalina Beach. Inside, it looks more like a big, comfortable house than a resort.
It’s a 3-star coastal resort with air-conditioned rooms that either look out to the mountains or the ocean. Some have their own balconies.
There’s an outdoor pool, a separate kids’ pool, and a parking lot for guests arriving with cars.
The third-floor restaurant and bar has a great view.
Scattered around the grounds are a handful of cozy huts, perfect for sitting outside and doing nothing for a while.
Pets aren’t allowed, though.

Best Alternatives to a Beach Resort in Vigan
If what you’re actually after is a pool, a good restaurant, and a great place to unwind after a day of sightseeing, you don’t need a beach resort for that.
Vigan already has a couple of hotels that check those boxes, and they’re right in the middle of the action, walking distance from Calle Crisologo.
These two alternatives both have pools and dining options, too.
Hotel Luna 🏨
Hotel Luna is a restored mansion, and they kept the Filipino-Spanish bones of the place intact. You’ll see it in the carved wood ceilings and hallways that double as small galleries.
It’s the first museum hotel in the Philippines, with pieces from historic and contemporary artists like Juan Luna and BenCab. The art pieces are scattered throughout the lobby and common areas.
You’ll find Hotel Luna just one block off Calle Crisologo, on the parallel street. You’re never far from the cobblestones, even if you’re not staying directly on them.
Downstairs, there’s a multi-level courtyard built around a pool. Head up top for the rooftop bar at sunset, or stay in for dinner at their restaurant, which serves both Ilocano and Spanish dishes.
For an old mansion, it’s surprisingly modern with an elevator and even Japanese toilets!
La Casa Blanca de Vigan 🏨
La Casa Blanca is literally on Calle Crisologo.
Outside, it still holds the old Spanish-era architecture that surrounds it. Inside are rooms that feel more contemporary hotel than heritage house, some even with their own bathtubs and jacuzzis.
There’s also a spa on-site!
Cafe Evelyn handles complimentary breakfast that leans into Ilocano dishes, while The Lounge is where you’d head for something to drink indoors.
The rooftop is where this place really shines, though. With the infinity pool and the Heritage Sky Bar, it might be the best sundowner spot in the heritage village.
It’s a nice pick if you’re after something romantic.
Tips for Choosing Where to Stay in Vigan
A few things worth keeping in mind before you book:
📍 Stay near Calle Crisologo. Most of what you’ll do and see in Vigan (the museums, the food, the evening walks) happens within a few blocks of it.
🏊 Look for a pool if that’s part of the appeal. Since Vigan itself isn’t really a beach destination, a hotel with its own pool is the next best thing for cooling off after a day of walking cobblestones in the heat.

There are not a lot of beach resorts in Vigan City. But you’ll still find hotels that give you the same pool-and-good-food experience!
If a beach day still matters to you, OveMar is worth the short trip to Sta. Catalina.
But if you’d rather stay close to the action, Hotel Luna and La Casa Blanca are hard to beat.
