Almost every hotel in Vigan, Ilocos Sur is a restored heritage building. This means, wherever you end up, you’re likely sleeping inside a piece of history.
Most hotels in Vigan are within walking distance of each other and of the main attractions, so what really sets them apart is the vibe, the amenities, and how much of the heritage experience you want.
This list covers luxury, mid-range, and budget options, all within or close to the heritage village.
I’ve personally stayed in some of these, and for the ones I haven’t, I’ve included enough details to help you decide where to stay in Vigan.
Best Luxury Stay: Hotel Luna
Best Mid-Range Stay: Vigan Plaza Hotel
Best Budget-Friendly Stay & Heritage Experience: Villa Angela
Best for Couples: La Casa Blanca Hotel
1. Hotel Luna 💰💰💰

Hotel Luna is probably the most upscale one in Vigan. It’s a mansion with interiors that preserve its original, elegant mix of Filipino and Spanish styles. You’ll see it in their intricate wood-carved ceiling decor.
With a lobby and common area decorated with artworks by renowned Filipino artists like Juan Luna and BenCab, it is also the first museum hotel in the country.
They also have a multi-level outdoor courtyard, which houses a swimming pool.
What I love most about Hotel Luna is how accessible and convenient it is. If you’re looking for a hotel in Vigan near Calle Crisologo, this is the one, because it’s right on General Luna St., on a block that touches the street itself.
Also, not only do they have an elevator, which is great for seniors, PWDs, and big families, but they also have Japanese toilets in their en-suite bathrooms and common restrooms. I honestly didn’t expect that!
Rooms range from standard rooms to lofts and suites, including everything you’d expect in a 4-star hotel.
For breakfast, you can have buffet, which gives you a lot of options, or made-to-order breakfast in your room.
✨ They have three dining and drinking spots:
- Comedor – the on-site restaurant where you can have Ilocano and Spanish cuisine;
- Chula Saloon Bar – their indoor bar for fancy afternoon coffee and evening cocktails; and
- Azotea – their rooftop cocktail bar, perfect for sunset happy hour.
2. Vigan Plaza Hotel 💰💰

While all of the hotels in this list are within walking-distance away from each other, I must say Vigan Plaza Hotel wins in terms of location.
Sitting right across Plaza Burgos, Vigan Cathedral, and the entrance of Calle Crisologo, it puts you at the geographic center of everything most visitors come to see.
My last visit was during the summer, and it was the perfect home base as I took a break between various attractions. That’s how centrally located it is!
There’s also a convenience store within the same block, tricycle and kalesa terminals right across, and two onsite restaurants: Cafe Bigaa, which serves classic Ilocano food, and Hap Chan, a chain Chinese restaurant.
They offer a range of rooms from standard rooms and suites to dormitory rooms for big groups.

I booked a standard double room, which fits two people, is air-conditioned (important in the summer!), and includes a TV, a big cabinet, and an en-suite bathroom with basic toiletries and bidet.
The hotel also has common areas with seats and water stations from which you can refill a glass bottle for you to use.
One thing worth noting: I arrived very early, but the receptionist gladly took my bags so I could roam around freely without lugging them around.
The only downside is that they don’t have an elevator.
3. Villa Angela 💰

If you want to stay inside an actual heritage house and experience real Filipino hospitality in a Spanish-colonial mansion, Villa Angela is the place to be.
Built in 1873, this ancestral home was passed through generations until 1988, when it was transformed into a 4-star country inn that also hosts historical and social events!
It has welcomed notable guests like Tom Cruise and was also a filming location for various local movies and series such as Jose Rizal (1998), Noli Me Tangere (1961), and Maria Clara at Ibarra (2022).

The house is full of memorabilia and furniture that dates back to its beginning. Personally, it also felt like a museum, and it is one of the best attractions in Vigan for me!
Rooms range from rooms for two to dormitory rooms that can fit ten.
There’s a wide yard shaded by a large tree that’s the perfect spot for an afternoon read. In the mornings, a complimentary breakfast of Vigan longganisa is served at the dining area.
Villa Angela is currently managed by Emmeline Verzosa, the granddaughter of Angela, who the villa was named after.
She’s an advocate of women’s empowerment, gender equality, and health. No wonder I felt at ease during my visit, and that female foreigners often do extended stays here!
4. Hotel Felicidad Vigan 💰💰

If Hotel Luna is the most upscale place to stay in Vigan, Hotel Felicidad comes closest to matching that aristocratic atmosphere at a more mid-range price.
It’s a restored bahay na bato mansion, and unlike some heritage hotels that modernize everything inside, this one kept much of its original character, with colorful baldosa tiles, dark hardwood furniture, and chandeliers throughout.
The grand suites even have four-poster beds made from mahogany and molave wood.
All rooms come with complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast, and they offer a free shuttle to and from the bus terminal. If you’re lucky, it might be their vintage Rolls Royce doing the pickup.
Hotel Felicidad is on the street parallel to Calle Crisologo, right at its entrance, which puts you in a central location.

La Casa Blanca Hotel is located right on Calle Crisologo.
While the hotel’s exteriors and common areas blend traditional and modern styles, the rooms lean more toward modern, which look like hotel rooms in Manila.
Rooms and suites are all fairly spacious, with some even having bathtubs and jacuzzis!
All rates include complimentary breakfast at Cafe Evelyn, which serves Ilocano dishes, and free use of the pool. It’s also one of the few hotels in Vigan with a pool!
For winding down, the hotel has The Lounge for drinks indoors and offers spa services.
The highlight, though, is the rooftop, which has an infinity pool and the Heritage Sky Bar, one of the better spots in Vigan for sundowners.
6. Ciudad Fernandina Hotel 💰💰

Ciudad Fernandina Hotel is a 1758 heritage mansion that combines Spanish colonial architecture with modern interiors and amenities.
It’s a good stay if you want the heritage house feel without actually staying in one, because the bathrooms and beds are modern, and the overall atmosphere is more polished hotel than ancestral home.
They offer rooms ranging from standard rooms and dormitory rooms to suites, all air-conditioned with free WiFi.
The in-house St. Martha’s Cafe serves a la carte Ilocano and Western food, and complimentary breakfast!
One practical bonus if you’re taking the bus: they offer a free shuttle to the terminal on checkout, though you may have to ask for it.
Ciudad Fernandina Hotel is also centrally located in the heritage village, just a block away from Calle Crisologo.
7. Paradores de Vigan 💰💰

Paradores de Vigan is located on the quieter, more residential part of the heritage village. And the hotel itself matches that vibe perfectly. So, if that’s the energy you’re looking for, it’s the perfect place to stay!
It’s a 3-star boutique hotel with a Spanish colonial-style exterior and modern interiors and amenities.
Room options include standard ones up to suites, and all have a living space and a kitchenette with basic appliances.
All of these make it seem like a serviced apartment more than a traditional hotel. It’s perfect for families and visitors who want more flexibility.
Paradores de Vigan is also right across from First Sinanglaoan, which opens at 6 AM and always has long lines. If you’re going early for sinanglao, you’ll just have to cross the street!
8. Hotel Mercante 💰💰

Hotel Mercante is the youngest hotel in the area, and that’s probably why seeing the old Spanish colonial-style exterior but being met with modern rooms gave me whiplash!
Opened in 2022, rooms vary from standard to suites that can house up to ten people, and all come with the basics you’d expect: fridge, kettle, flat-screen TV, free WiFi, and a private bathroom with a bidet.
Complimentary breakfast is included, too.
What sets it apart from the other hotels in this list is the practical and thoughtful things not many hotels in the area offer: a gym, pet-friendly rooms, and free bike rentals. Again, free bike rentals!
Cantina Mercante, their onsite restaurant, serves local and Asian dishes, and there’s a grocery store right across the street.
9. Hotel Veneto De Vigan 💰💰

Hotel Veneto de Vigan is another heritage mansion turned hotel, with narra wood finishes and Spanish colonial architecture. It’s a good option if you want the heritage energy at a lower price.
Rooms are air-conditioned with free WiFi, a flat-screen TV, electric kettle, and a private bathroom.
Complimentary breakfast of Vigan longganisa, tapa, eggs, and rice is included. There’s also an onsite restaurant and bar.
The one downside is there’s no elevator, so keep that in mind if you’re traveling with seniors or a lot of luggage.
Otherwise, the location is great. It’s just a few steps from Calle Crisologo!
10. Hotel Salcedo de Vigan 💰💰

Hotel Salcedo de Vigan is an old Spanish house converted into a hotel. The grand chandeliers, intricate ceiling patterns, and vintage wall sconces give it a regal character. It actually looks like what it is.
Rooms and suites are air-conditioned with hot water, so you get the Spanish colonial feel without giving up the basics. There’s an onsite restaurant that serves breakfast and dinner.
It’s less than a minute’s walk from Calle Crisologo.
11. Dy Heritage Suites 💰💰

Dy Heritage Suites is a former ancestral house converted into a small B&B.
The rooms have free WiFi, flat-screen TV, and a private bathroom with bidet. Complimentary breakfast of Ilocano cuisine is included.

It’s about a 5-minute walk from the RG Jar Factory and 8 minutes from Calle Crisologo, so it’s slightly further from the main strip than the other hotels on this list.
But it’s a good choice if you want something quieter!

Grandpa’s Inn is an old-fashioned heritage hotel in Vigan City with a lot of character. Vintage items are displayed, which makes it feel like part museum, part hotel.
The rooms are inconsistent in terms of interiors. Some have weathered brick walls, some have plain walls, and some have a mix of both. But that’s part of the charm!
Complimentary breakfast is included. They have two restaurants onsite: Cafe Uno and Kusina Felicitas, which share the same menu. The latter is one of the best food spots in Vigan!
