You can explore centuries-old churches and forts in the morning, head up to the mountains for city views in the afternoon, then end the day with Cebuano food or a panoramic night view.

The problem is that Cebu City is spread out, and some of the best attractions sit far from each other.

If you’re visiting for the first time, arranging transportation between all these places can take more time than expected. This is where Cebu City tours can make your trip much easier.

I’ve been to Cebu City plenty of times, visited many of the attractions included in these tours, and found that each type works for a different kind of traveler.

Some are better if you only have half a day, while others make more sense if you want to cover Cebu City, the mountain areas, and Mactan in one trip.

Without further ado, here are seven Cebu City tours worth considering whether you’re traveling alone, with family, with friends, or in a limited time.

7 Must-Do Cebu City Tours

1. Cebu City Half-Day Joiner Tour

If you only have a few hours in Cebu City, this is one of the most practical tours in Cebu City to consider.

The half-day joiner Cebu City tour focuses on some of the city’s most recognizable historical attractions, including Magellan’s Cross, Basilica Minore del Santo Niño, Yap-San Diego Ancestral House, Cebu Heritage Monument, Fort San Pedro, and the Taoist Temple.

The current tour lasts around three hours and includes a licensed guide and applicable entrance fees.

I recommend this type of Cebu City tour if it’s your first time in Cebu and you want to see the main landmarks without having to figure out public transportation yourself. I also think this is a good Cebu City tour if you have at least a 9-hour layover.

The historical attractions also sit in different parts of the city, so having a vehicle take you between them saves a lot of time.

You’ll also have a guide who can explain the history behind each location instead of simply visiting, taking photos, and moving on.

One thing to remember is that the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño has a dress code, so dress appropriately if you plan to enter the church.

I’ve visited Sirao Garden more than once, and one thing I noticed is how much the attraction has changed over time. There are actually two Sirao Gardens, and both have their own attractions and photo spots.

Temple of Leah is another place I would include on a mountain itinerary. I’ve visited twice, and the second visit was different because more areas of the property had opened.

The architecture is the obvious attraction, but I also enjoyed looking at the antique collections, ceramics, paintings, books, and other items displayed inside.

The biggest advantage of booking a private mountain tour is convenience. Some of these attractions sit along steep and winding roads, and mobile signal can become unreliable in certain areas. Having a driver wait for you makes the whole trip much easier.

4. Private Cebu & Lapu-Lapu City Tour with Uphill Spots & Lunch at House of Lechon

Although it was in the afternoon, I imagined it would be beautiful with the white roses lit up after twilight.

CCLEX also makes sense at night because you get views of the city and surrounding areas while crossing the bridge.

If you want to visit Tops Lookout or another mountain viewpoint at night, check the itinerary carefully because it may use different dining or viewpoint stops depending on availability.

Cebu isn’t only about tourist attractions. If you ask me, food should also be part of your Cebu itinerary.

For a first-time visitor, I’d divide the day into three sections.

Visit Magellan’s Cross, Basilica Minore del Santo Niño, Cebu Heritage Monument, Yap-San Diego Ancestral House, and Fort San Pedro.

🍽️ Lunch: Try Cebuano food.

This is the perfect time to try lechon, puso, or other local dishes.

🌤️ Afternoon: Choose between the mountains or Mactan.

If you want mountain views, head to Temple of Leah, Sirao Garden, and Tops Lookout. If you’d rather explore Mactan, choose a Cebu City and Mactan tour instead.

🌆 Evening: End with dinner or a night attraction.

You can visit 10,000 Roses, enjoy the city views from the mountains, or simply find a local restaurant for dinner.

The best trip depends on what you want to see. 😉
