The area has a few stray dogs roaming around, but they’re generally friendly and add to the beach’s local charm.
Unlike some of the more popular beaches in Panglao Island, Bohol, Momo Beach doesn’t have many resorts or restaurants nearby.
It doesn’t even have the lively scene of Alona or Dumaluan, but this keeps the area simple and natural.

Known by many as “White Beach,” this beach isn’t as developed as other beaches in Panglao Island Bohol, so you get to enjoy a calm, quiet escape surrounded by powdery white sand and crystal-clear water.
At Libaong Beach, you’ll find a few laid-back beach huts and palm trees scattered along the shore, giving it a simple, unspoiled feel.
This spot is also ideal if you want to take a long walk along the shore, read a book under a shady palm, or even have a picnic with the sea as your backdrop.
You won’t see large crowds or noisy parties here—just pure beach bliss.
If you love swimming or snorkeling, the waters here are calm and inviting. The beach also stretches on for miles, so there’s plenty of room to find your own private spot.

If you love snorkeling or diving, the coral reefs here—filled with vibrant fish and even sea turtles—are a must-see! 🪸
I even had a chance to freedive at Napaling Reef last time, which has long been on many divers’ bucket lists.
The beaches in Panglao Island Bohol offer both lively and peaceful spots, depending on what you’re after. Alona Beach is ideal for a more vibrant scene, with plenty of beachside restaurants, bars, and lively nightlife.
For a quieter escape, you should head to Libaong or Doljo Beach (this beach, especially at sunset) where you can relax on the soft sand and take in the sounds of the waves in a calm, natural setting.
As much as I love Panglao, I still have to say that Anda Beach in Bohol remains my personal favorite. 😉

The best time to visit the beaches in Panglao Island Bohol is from December to May when the weather in the Philippines is dry and sunny—perfect for beach activities.
March and April are especially popular, so you’ll likely see more visitors during these months.
From June to November, the rainy season in the Philippines brings occasional rain and cloudy skies or even typhoons, but it also means fewer crowds, which some travelers prefer.
Keep in mind that summer is also jellyfish season. If you’re visiting during these months, consider using anti-jellyfish sunscreen or wearing a rash guard to protect your skin while doing water activities. Trust me, I’ve learned from my experience. 😅

🛺 Tricycles (Tuk-tuks)
These are the local versions of taxis. They’re affordable, easy to find near popular beaches like Alona, and can take you to most places around the island or other beaches in Panglao Island Bohol.
🛵 Motorbike Rental
Renting a motorbike gives you the freedom to explore Panglao at your own pace. It’s a great way to reach quieter beaches like Doljo and Momo Beach. We used this transportation last time; it was the best and most flexible way to reach the beaches in Panglao Island Bohol.
🚗 Car Rentals
If you’re traveling with a group or have a lot of luggage, renting a car is a convenient option. It offers more space and comfort for longer trips around the island.
🚙 Tours
If you prefer a guided experience, booking a tour is a great choice. Tours often include transportation, so you can easily visit top spots around the island without worrying about getting around on your own.

If you’re looking for an affordable place near Alona Beach, Alona Pawikan is a solid option. It’s just a short walk from the beach, making it ideal for anyone who loves the sand and sea, or wants to experience Panglao’s nightlife.
The resort offers clean, simple rooms at a budget-friendly price, along with friendly staff who really make a difference.
Other than being one of the most affordable hotels in Panglao, when I stayed there, the staff went out of their way to help, especially ensuring I made it to the ferry port on time.
You can also rent a motorbike for Php 350.00 a day, which we did. It’s the easiest and most convenient way to get around and explore the island.
🏖️ Mid-range Accommodation: Pyramid Beach Resort
If you’re after a comfortable yet affordable place, Pyramid Beach Resort is a great choice.
Located right on one of the beaches in Panglao Island Bohol – Alona Beach, it’s just a few steps away from Panglao’s nightlife, making it perfect if you’re traveling solo or with friends and want to be in a lively spot.
The resort offers a pool, an on-site restaurant with a mix of local and international dishes, and easy access to water activities.
It’s a great place to enjoy the beach, meet new people, and have fun without breaking the bank.
