📍 Best Hotels in Other Areas of Siquijor
While San Juan, Lazi, and the central area offer the most accommodation options, other parts of Siquijor have their own unique charm and hidden gems.
I’ve already tried staying at Larena before in my friend’s house and as well as in a glamping resort. So, if you prefer a MORE secluded place, I suggest this three other towns of Siquijor.

This is a perfect place to stay in Enrique Villanueva for families and tourists who are looking for a quiet and peaceful retreat.
Why Do Tourists Visit Siquijor?
Many people like to visit Siquijor because it is a pretty island with nice beaches, clear water, and is cheaper and quieter than some of the touristy islands in the Philippines like Boracay and Coron.
You can also swim with fishes, sunbathe in the white sand beach, and watch beautiful sunsets here.
For someone who’s been to Siquijor for 3 times already (definitely going back), I haven’t even explored some of the well-known tourist spots in the island.
This province is also eco-friendly like it’s been discouraged to use plastics even in public markets. So make sure you bring your eco-bags and tumblers with you.
It also has majestic waterfalls, caves, and other nature-based tourist spots, so people who like nature go to Isla del Fuego too.
Some people believe special things happen on Siquijor, so they visit to try new experiences. The people who live here are very kind and make visitors feel welcome.
For example, we speak the same dialect but not in the same tone.
So, one time when I asked someone for direction, she had the hint that I’m not from Siquijor and instantly asked her friend to give me more details about the correct direction of the place.
Lastly, Siquijor is a calm place to relax and rest. I MEAN IT!

How Safe is Siquijor?
Siquijor is usually a safe place to go.
But like anywhere, you need to be careful. Don’t walk alone at night or in quiet places.
Whenever I visit Siquijor, I try to avoid driving at night because some areas are not well-lit and there’s a probability of encountering stray dogs crossing the streets.
You should also learn about how people live there (if possible) and follow their rules.
Specially when driving a motorcycle, you need to wear your helmet all the time and make sure to bring a valid drivers license because there might be a surprise checkpoint in some highways.
If you use cars or other transportations within the island, make sure they are safe.
Finally, take good care of your things and be smart about who you talk to.
