❓ Is There a Ferry from Panglao, Bohol to Siquijor ❓
There’s currently no direct ferry route that connects Panglao, Bohol and Siquijor.
You’ll need to travel via Tagbilaran City and ride the ferry, OceanJet, or Lite Shipping, going to the Province of Siquijor.
Does Siquijor Have an airport?
Yes! Siquijor does have an airport called Siquijor Airport (RPVZ) and is located in Barangay Cang-alwang, Siquijor, Siquijor.
Starting December 15, 2025, Siquijor Airport operates a single route between Cebu and Siquijor, flights scheduled four times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday).
The airport is also accepting chartered private planes and small aircrafts.

I’ve been on the island for three different occasions and I couldn’t get enough of it especially since it’s located just an island away!
Must-Visit Tourist Spots in Siquijor Island
⛪ Lazi Church and Convent (San Isidro Labrador Parish)
Lazi Church, or the San Isidro Labrador Parish Church, is a Baroque-style Catholic church in Lazi, Siquijor, Philippines, built in 1857.
The church and its convent, established in 1887, are recognized as a National Historical Landmark for their architectural and historical significance.
Visitors can explore this site before or after visiting nearby attractions like Cambugahay Falls.
🌊 Paliton Beach
Witness one of Siquijor’s best sunsets at Paliton Beach. The golden hour hues reflecting on the calm waters create a magical atmosphere.
I visited here on the last day of 2023 and drove 24km to catch the sunset, which was worth it.
The beach is great for swimming and sunbathing, and it’s no surprise that many foreign tourists visit for its peaceful atmosphere and beautiful twilight views.
🏞 Cambugahay Falls
Cambugahay Falls in Lazi, Siquijor, is a popular destination, especially for first-time visitors.
It features three tiers of waterfalls with turquoise waters, natural pools, rope swings, and floating planks.
This Siquijor falls is a hidden gem in Isla del Fuego, perfect for swimming, relaxing, and trying the Tarzan swing.
🦋 Siquijor Butterfly Sanctuary
Siquijor Butterfly Garden, also known as Siquijor Butterfly Sanctuary, is a lovely butterfly sanctuary in Cang-apa, Siquijor.
It is managed by Dante Jumapit, a passionate butterfly enthusiast. The garden is home to a variety of colorful butterflies and is well-maintained with manicured plants and netted enclosures.
⛰️ Mount Bandilaan
Mount Bandilaan is a protected area in Siquijor Island, covering around 244 hectares. It’s home to diverse flora and fauna, cultural, and historical sites.
The highest peak in Siquijor, it’s great for hiking, birdwatching, and panoramic views.
The road to the park is steep and not well-developed in some areas, so caution is advised, especially in the late afternoon or during rainy weather.
🌊 Salagdoong Beach
This beach is a popular spot in Siquijor known for its clear waters, white sand, and rocks. It’s great for swimming, snorkeling, and cliff jumping.
I visited once during college and tried cliff jumping, but it didn’t go well—I ended up hurting my back.

While a day trip from Bohol to Siquijor is possible, we recommend spending at least 2 to 3 days in Siquijor to fully appreciate its magic.
If time is limited, focus on the highlights of Siquijor like Lazi Church, Century-old Balete Tree, and Paliton Beach.
My friends and I had done a day-and-a-half trip on the island before and it wasn’t even enough. So, when we returned last January this year we spent 5 days in Siquijor Province.

The best time to visit Siquijor is during the dry season, which runs from November to April.
You can expect sunny days and calm seas, and the ideal conditions during this time are good for exploring.
How Do You Get Around Siquijor Island?
🛵 Motorbike Rental
Renting a motorbike is a great way to explore Siquijor Island. For just PHP 350-500 per day, you can freely discover its natural wonders. Renting a scooter is practical and exciting, allowing you to easily visit waterfalls, beaches, and other tourist spots in Siquijor Island.
🛺 Tricycle
Tricycles are another popular mode of transportation on the island. Although slower than motorbikes, they are cheaper and can accommodate more people plus you will have your own driver. It cost about PHP 1,000 per day.
🚙 Tour
If you prefer a hassle-free exploration, you can opt for a package tour. Local guides can take you to famous spots like the Old Enchanted Balete Tree, Cambugahay Falls, Salagdoong Beach, and the Lazi Church and Convent.
🚙 Jeepney
Jeepneys, large colorful buses common in the Philippines, are also available on Siquijor Island. They are slower than motorbikes but can accommodate more passengers than with the tricycles. Riding a jeepney costs about PHP 1,500 per day.
