There’s the well-known Siquijor falls with its three tiers, and the less crowded Locong Falls, a hidden spot waiting to be discovered.
I’ve been to two different Siquijor falls on the island, but on my next visit, I’ll definitely explore the rest. Well, I hope I can do all. 🫣

5 Must-Visit Siquijor Falls
1. Cambugahay Falls 🏞
Cambugahay Falls, located in Lazi, Siquijor, is a three-tiered Siquijor falls with crystal-clear turquoise waters cascading down through the lush rainforest, creating natural pools that invite visitors to swim and relax.
This Siquijor falls is easily accessible from the other Siquijor tourist spots such as the Lazi Church and Convent and the Sambulawan Underground River.
The best part? You can swing on ropes like Tarzan and plunge into the refreshing water, while massive floating planks offer picture-perfect moments you can do solo or together with friends or families for only PHP20.
My friend and I did the Tarzan swing on my first visit while we opted for the human drone shots on our visit last 2022.
I recommend asking a tour guide, aka a human drone, to take pictures or videos of you. They’re really good and they also know the perfect spots where to take it.
If you’re up for the challenge of steep stairs, consider this a must-visit spot on your Siquijor adventure.
Don’t worry about needing to drink water when you go up again, this Siquijor falls has stalls where you can buy food and beverages at the entrance.

2. Lugnason Falls 🏞
Lugnason Falls in San Juan, Siquijor is a place surrounded by lush vegetation. Unlike the more crowded Cambugahay Falls, Lugnason Falls offers solitude and serenity.
This Siquijor falls cascades into a pool with the gentle sound of water and the cool breeze creating a soothing ambiance.
To reach Lugnason Falls, you can ride a scooter, habal-habal (motorcycle taxi), or tricycle. The marked trail through the forest takes approximately 15 minutes to walk.
Upon arrival, you’ll see a clear teal-green swimming hole, framed by a beautiful rainforest.
The waterfall descends from a height of just under 10 meters, forming a pool that spans approximately 10 meters at its base.
The easy 10-minute trek from the car park is suitable for all fitness levels.
Entrance to Lugnason Falls is free, though a small parking fee of 10 pesos may be requested.
When you reach the Google Maps pin location, simply park your scooter by the road and follow the trail down to the falls.
3. Lagaan Falls 🏞
Lagaan Falls, still located in the Lazi region, is another Siquijor falls surrounded by rainforest.
The hike to the falls is made even more enchanting by the dense canopy of trees.
The trail is marked, and it’s a 15-minute walk to reach the falls. Once there, you’ll discover a host of exciting features: swimming holes, rope swings, rock jumps, and even small caves.
The water at Lagaan Falls is a mesmerizing turquoise blue that is perfect for a refreshing swim. And if you’re feeling adventurous, try out the natural slide and rope swing.
The entrance fee is Php 50 only.
4. Locong Falls 🏞
Another lesser-known Siquijor falls located in the Lazi municipality; Locong Falls is a hidden gem that we visited last time.
It’s a small waterfall gently pouring into a crystal-clear blue pool within a jungle setting. It’s like nature’s own secret oasis that is perfect for unwinding.
What’s great about Locong Falls? Well, it’s not crowded! You won’t bump into hordes of tourists here.
During our visit, there were only five of us, enjoying the tranquility and beauty of this spot.
If you’re tired of the hustle and bustle, skip the popular Siquijor falls and head to Locong.
It’s a peaceful escape, still has the Tarzan swing, and away from the photobombers and crowds.
Plus, the trail isn’t too steep, so it’s an easy walk. Trust me. I would prefer this than the steps of Cambugahay Falls.
You can even bring a local guide for a small fee if you’d like. The entrance fee is just Php 50.
5. Cangbangag Falls 🏞
Cangbangag Falls tucked away in the mountains between Larena and Maria Town on Siquijor Island, is another hidden treasure.
It takes about 1 to 1.5 hours to reach this spot, but the journey is well worth it.
What makes Cangbangag Falls special? Well, it’s the tallest Siquijor falls in the province!
It’s a wide basin where you can swim with your friends, surrounded by lush greenery. And right in the middle, there’s a deep section perfect for diving.

Not many tourists have discovered this gem, so you won’t find crowds here. It’s like having your own private paradise.

🏞 Bonus: The Hidden Waterfall, Kawasan Falls
Lazi is a waterfall wonderland, and many Siquijor falls are packed into this small area.
You have the opportunity to spend an entire day hopping from one waterfall to the next.
Kawasan Falls in Siquijor, not the one in Cebu Province, or Kawasan Falls and Cave is one of them and a hidden gem located in the southern part of the Lazi region.
The journey doesn’t have signs, but Google Maps can guide you. Once you reach the parking area, a friendly guide will lead you to the falls.
The 10-minute downhill trek is manageable, but watch out for a few rough patches. Trainers are better than flip-flops.
Now, picture this: a Tarzan rope swings over a hidden cave beneath the falls.
You can even swim under the waterfall and explore the mysterious cave. It’s like you’ve stepped into the pages of a magical storybook!!
Best Time to Visit Siquijor Island
The best time to visit Siquijor, whether you’re from came from Dumaguete, Bohol, Cebu, or even Manila, and explore the mesmerizing Siquijor falls, Siquijor beaches, and the underwater world is during the dry season, which typically runs from November to April.
During this period, you’ll encounter sunny weather with a lower chance of storms or typhoons.
However, keep in mind that the weather in the Philippines can be unpredictable, so it’s always a good idea to double-check before planning your trip.
Interestingly, waterfalls are often more impressive when it’s raining, which usually occurs between May and October!
Getting Around Siquijor Island
🛵 Motorbike Rental
Renting a motorbike is the most popular way to explore Siquijor Island. For around PHP 300-500 per day, you can have your own scooter and explore the island at your own pace.
Despite its small size, a motorbike allows you to visit mesmerizing Siquijor falls, clear beaches, and the underwater world.
It’s my preferred choice whenever I’m on the island. Plus, having a local friend who owns a motor rental shop makes it even better – she guides us to off-the-beaten Siquijor tourist spots, making our vacation memorable and hassle-free.
🛺 Tricycle
Tricycles are another common mode of transportation on Siquijor Island. While they might be a bit slower than motorbikes, they are also budget-friendly and you’ll have a personal driver. You can hire a tricycle for approximately PHP 1,000 per day.
🚙 Guided Tours
If you prefer a hassle-free experience, consider booking a Siquijor package tour. Various tour operators on the island offer guided visits to top attractions such as the Old Enchanted Balete Tree, Cambugahay Falls, Salagdoong Beach, and the Lazi Church and Convent.
🚙 Jeepney
Jeepneys, those colorful and iconic vehicles, are also available on Siquijor Island. Although they’re a tad slower than motorbikes but can also accommodate larger group of people, they come with a more affordable price tag – around PHP 1,500 per day.
How Many Days Should You Stay in Siquijor?
When you’re planning a trip to Siquijor, think about how much time you have.
If you have 3 days, you can leisurely explore the island and see its best parts: Siquijor falls, Siquijor beaches, underwater wonders, and even the Siquijor Butterfly Garden.
But if you’re in a hurry, 2 days will still let you visit important spots like Lugnason Falls, the Enchanted Balete Tree, Lazi Church, and Cambugahay Falls.
On my first visit, I stayed for 3 days and 2 nights. The second time, we spent just one night on the island. And our most recent trip was 5 days and 4 nights—we just couldn’t get enough of Siquijor!

Payag n’ Kapitan is a nice little guesthouse in Siquijor. They have simple rooms with things like air conditioning, private parking, free breakfast, and Wi-Fi. You can chill out in their garden and enjoy the relaxed island vibe. It’s a great spot for folks who want to stay right in Siquijor.
🛌🏻 Budget Resort: E&N Paradise Island Resort
E&N Paradise Island Resort is a budget-friendly place to stay in Sawang, Tubod, San Juan. They have cozy rooms with air conditioning and private bathrooms. You can also enjoy free parking, 24-hour room service, and Wi-Fi. Plus, it’s just a minute away from the famous Pitogo Cliff!
🛌🏻 Mid-range Resort: VILLA MARMARINE BEACH RESORT & RESTAURANT
VILLA MARMARINE BEACH RESORT & RESTAURANT is a friendly place to stay in Candanay Sur, Siquijor. It’s owned by a Japanese family. They have big rooms with air conditioning and private bathrooms. You can also use free Wi-Fi, have breakfast for free, and enjoy a beautiful view of Candanay Sur Beach. And guess what? They even have a restaurant where you can try both local and Japanese food!
🛌🏻 Luxury Resort: Coco Grove Beach Resort, Siquijor Island
Coco Grove Beach Resort is a fancy place in San Juan, Siquijor. They have really nice rooms with air conditioning, private bathrooms, and free Wi-Fi. You can eat at their restaurants and try both local and international food. But the best thing is sitting on the beach, watching the sunset, and sipping a delicious fruit shake.

🩴 Wear sturdy footwear: The paths around Siquijor Falls can be uneven and slippery, so it’s important to wear footwear with a good grip to prevent slipping and protect your feet from sharp rocks or debris.
💦 Bring water and snacks for the trip: Exploring Siquijor falls can be tiring, so it’s a good idea to stay hydrated and keep your energy levels up by bringing plenty of water and snacks along with you.
🌞 Protect yourself from the sun with sunscreen and a hat: Siquijor can get quite hot and sunny, especially during the day. To avoid sunburn and heat exhaustion, make sure to apply sunscreen regularly and wear a hat to shield your face and neck from the sun.
