Welcome to one of the most underrated beaches I’ve been to in the country – the Anda Beach Bohol Philippines!
As an introvert who loves the beach, a less crowded and underrated destination (a bonus if it’s inexpensive) sounds like heaven for me. ✨
While places like Panglao often steal the spotlight, it is still different if you have visited a spot that offers the same thing but with the addition of a serene environment.
That’s why Anda Beach in Bohol has just been added to my list after visiting here last summer.

This lesser-known gem is also becoming a favorite for travelers who love natural beauty and tranquility without the hustle and bustle of more popular spots.
Believe it or not, I once met a foreign tourist in my hometown who had visited Anda Beach. We both agreed: it’s way better than the crowded Panglao. 💯
What is Anda Beach Bohol Philippines & What to Expect?

Anda Beach is located in the northeastern part of Bohol.
To give you an idea, it’s about a 2.5 to 3-hour drive from Tagbilaran City where you will pass by some of Bohol’s tourist spots like the Baclayon Church and towns like Jagna.
Since we availed of a guided tour here, our guide drove us to Anda Quinale Beach. It’s a public beach that still has the same overall Anda charm just like the other private beaches in the area.
However, before going here, remember to pay the environmental fee. It supports the upkeep of the tourist spots in Anda, Bohol.

Even open to the public, the beach is less commercialized, so you won’t find large crowds or noisy bars. Instead, you’ll enjoy a peaceful atmosphere and very friendly locals.
Our guide even told us that the white beach here is comparable to Boracay Beach. Thus, one of the beach resorts is called Anda De Boracay Bohol.

The moment you arrive, you’ll notice the powdery white sand stretching along the coastline, meeting the gentle turquoise waters.
The water is shallow and calm which makes it safe for swimming, even for families with young children.

The beach is lined with coconut trees that offer shade, and, if you’re lucky, you might find some areas with rocky cliffs which can add to its natural charm.
From the beach, you can also see Camiguin Island (the island with more volcanoes than towns!) and its very tall mountains from afar.

What I also like about Anda Beach Bohol Philippines, specifically the one that we went to, was how inexpensive the prices are compared to Panglao.
The locals are super friendly, and I noticed some of the teens at the shops and restaurants in Quinale Beach were working part-time.

It’s a smart way for them to spend their summer break while earning some extra money.
And again, although a public beach, it’s cleaner than the other public beaches that I’ve been to. I mean, all I see is the long stretch of white sand meeting the waves of the beautiful waters.
Just ignore the seaweeds that had been washed ashore (it’s better than plastic and other waste). 😌

One of the most amazing things about Anda Beach is the vibrant coral reefs just a short swim from the shore.
Snorkelers and divers will love exploring the diverse marine life, from colorful fish to sea turtles and lively corals.
Just thinking about it makes me wish I could dive in Bohol again, with this spot as the destination.
Things to Do in Anda Beach

While Anda Beach Bohol Philippines is perfect for relaxation and family bonding, there are other activities that can keep you entertained:
🤿 Snorkeling and Diving

Anda Beach is a paradise for underwater enthusiasts. The coral reefs here are brimming with life. 🪸
You can easily rent snorkeling gear from local shops or arrange a diving trip to one of the beach resorts in the area. Some popular diving spots include the nearby caves and coral gardens.
🐚 Beachcombing and Swimming

If you’d rather stay on the shore, the beach is perfect for long walks, collecting seashells or beachcombing, or just taking a dip in the crystal-clear water.
The shallow, calm sea also makes swimming a pleasure, whether it’s early morning or late afternoon.
🏝️ Visiting Lamanok Island
Just a short boat ride from Anda Beach, Lamanok Island is famous for its mystical caves and ancient rock art.
To really get a feel for the island’s history and legends, you can take a guided tour that offers deeper insights.
🪨 Exploring the Cave Pools

Anda has a few amazing cave pools, like Cabagnow Cave Pool and Combento Cave Pool. These natural spots are tucked away, with cool, refreshing waters surrounded by limestone rocks.
We visited Cabagnow Cave Pool last time, but unfortunately, we couldn’t take a dip due to time constraints.
🦪 Local Food and Culture

Just like anywhere else, make sure to explore the local town. Anda gives you a real taste of Boholano culture—everything from traditional food to the welcoming smiles.
Be sure to try the fresh seafood and local treats like ‘kakanin’ (rice cakes). Chat with the locals too—they always have the best advice if you’re thinking about staying longer in Anda.
Best Time to Visit Anda Beach in Bohol

The perfect time to enjoy Anda Beach is from November to May, during the dry season. Expect clear skies, gentle waves, and great conditions for outdoor fun.
The busiest months are December to March, so if you’d rather skip the crowds, try visiting in November or May.
We visited Bohol in the last week of April, but as you can see in the photos, the place was almost empty. 🤩 We got to Anda Beach around 2 in the afternoon and spent about an hour there.
It’s best to avoid the rainy season (June to October) since heavy downpours and choppy waters can put a damper on your beach plans.
